Development of the slottrack
After a time, I called myself a Teppichrutscher (in english it is translated as casper-stipper. In germany it is a famous
definition for slotter, who are playing on the floor not standing). I decided to fix my course to be able to play standing.
By the way I had the idea to fill the space along the track with life. A pitlane, stands, parking place, figures... So to
speak.
First of all we started to think about the parcours. The dimension was limited by the free space in my hobby-room. While
building the course, we found some tricks to extend it in every possible way we could imagine,till we reached the dimisions
of today.
While building the course
I had a look on several course, and for me it was clear: Carpet of grass, a printed background image nerver ever! It has to be special! Our first problem was, to fill the free room between the bars without a brake, to reach the same level. I found some polystyrene-plats, I used for inferioring my floor, and the problem was solved.
We wanted to have a bridge, so we formed the landscape some ups and downs.
And the background?
Everything should fit together, an overflow of the horizon.
I knew how it should look, but how could I convert my image into reality??
On an average afternoon, I came home from buiseness,
I went down into the cellar...
My daughter really surprised me! Exactly how I imagined!
Some jokes fixed with brush and colours, for example an old ruin in the back, and I was exalted!
And on this picture, during the finish, the course only has to be cleaned...
