WITH WHICH SUPPORTS MODEL CARS ARE VARNISHED
In the beginning I want to mention that I did not learn any varnishing-buiseness, I made my experiences only step by step
by trying to varnish my cars myself. But a great help is my fellow, varnisher Ewald H., who allways anwers any questions
concerning varnishing
My first thing I varnished, was a Starter-kit of Revell.

(For example: the Countach and the MG and the Oldtimer are varnished with the Starter-kit of Revell). It’s so much
fun varnishing my cars by myself, either after real examples or after my own ideas. But constatly it’s very espensiv to
buy one conpressed-air-can after on other (8Euro a peace) So this problem raised a new question: How am I going to go
on??
A possibility would be a truck-tube for saving air, on other alternative would be a conpressed-air-bottle for refilling. In
both cases, I would have to go to the pit-stop for air-filling, but it would be a soundless way at home. On the other hand,
what happens if the pit-stop is closed or is away??? So I looked for a compressor. At a building center I would pay ca.
80Euro for a no-name-product, or 180Euro for a brand-compressor (with acompressed-air-accumulator) in this case there is the
facility to connect the airgun and refill car-hubes, connect tacker ..... But those compressors are very loud, ca96dB ....
now you would maybe have a problem with your neigbour L) But the only chance to avoid this problem, is buing a special
airbrush-compressor, which very low, but costs 250Euro upwards.
After my frirst esperiences, I decided to make a comprmise: I bought a brand-compressor with an accumulator with an acustic
pressure of 96dB.

Acually I use different guns: a SATA with a 0,5-diffuser for complete paintings

While searching for the right adapter I find the perfect homepage: Unholzer All my questions were asked in details an all necessary peaces could be delivered. Perfect consultation of a speciallist dealer.
Maybe you ask yourself, what paints are used? There are much different ones: on the one hand I used water-basic-paints (less solvents), on the other hand paints, which contraining solvents.
Selfmade decals are printed on a inkjet printer, and this ink is water-soluble L !!! Everyone knows the result of a water-drop on a printing-document, everything flows. So i have to protect them with clear-varnish. And this clear-varnish musn’t be an water-sluble, so I use Revell-clear-varnish. For painting the car I often usw Tamiya colors.

Stop, this car is already presented on my page, isn’t is?! But in the wrong color. I connected myself to Stefan Mücke and asked him, if he could tell me the right color. Of course, the answer returns imediatly!
You can find more news about Red Nose Day under the link DTM MODELLS.

Here I want to show some more tools which help me while I'm painting. The first thing is the so called "third-hand". You can stick little parts or a whole body on it and can turn the parts withut touching them.
