a tribute to a slotcar-board in which I’m writing

here’s my idea:
Some time ago I had the idea to make a model for the German “slotcarforum” so I made a little brainstorming:

  • WHAT does the car need to be recognizes as a “slotcarforum” model?
  • WHICH basis will I use for the car?
  • WHAT will the model cost?
  • WHICH decals do I have to put on the model?
  • WHICH number will the car have?
The car should be easy to make but you have to see directly the connection to the board. The question which basis I should use was an easy one: Slot.It white kits are very popular and they are already disassembled. The finished model should be as cheap as possible and so the livery is also quiet easy. The color is self-mixed and represents the background of the board. The decals come also from the board and so I only made decals which are directly out of the board. The number was also easy, number 2. The admin of the board (Heinz) has its own slotstore and so I got the white kits for a good price. He planed to make the decals by himself. I had to paint the cars (sanding, priming, painting, putting on decals and clearcoating). Last but not least I assembled the cars and now the first slotcarforum-model is finished; Porsche 956C.

But there are 9 guys in the team? And why did I choose number 02?
The number was chosen because of the “birth-date” of the board. It went online on second in November 2007. So my plans are to make more cars with number 11 (representing November) and 07 (representing 2007). Those cars won’t be painted in yellow and they won’t be a Porsche. So let’s see which cars I will choose.
Hope you'll like my idea...
