Mercedes CLK DTM of Katsutomo Kaneishi
I fact that I didn’t get all my resine-bodies allready, but still having all the decals at home, I started to built
my next DTM-racer.
The racer, modell 2002, with the Persson-Team brought into the year 2003 ( with the support of Autobacs), is going to be
build.
Katsutomo Kaneishi was born on the 21. Novembe 1968 in Osaka. 1980 he started his career in cart-racing. After his fourth
place in the Japan Formula 3 Chanpion Chip in 1986 he switched into Japan Formula 3000 Chanpion Chip (today know as
Formula-Nippon and the Japan Gt500 Chanpion Chip). In 2001 he become Vizechanpion in this league.
In this case the racer is based on M’ercedes CLK DTM of Scalectrix.
Which steps habe to be done are allready described in the other building-report of several DTM-modells.In this project I only
want point on some specials and extraordinary facts.
Till know there is only one SCX modell revarnished and one Revell-kit used. Comparing this three modells, the building-kit is
the best base to go on, wihout decunstruction and removing the sponsors. (indeed, I do sharp my cars without any use of
chemicals!!) In my opinion the slot-producer are on the right way with there white-kits! With every slotmodell, I
deconstructed in the past, the different pieces were sticked together, clipsed or welched together.
But in this case , some parts were sticked together, and some parts were difficult to remove.
Connecting to this topic: Does anybody knows how to solve them, to separat them easier?? When yes, please send me an
e-mail.
While deconstruching slotcars, I thought welded pieces were negative sideproduck: you can hurt yourself very easily, you can
damage some other pieces of it woulg be difficult to fix them, but after my experiences with a Scalectrix, I changed my paint
of few :-)

The car was recunstructed , shaped and completly white varnished, which also was the grounding. I chose th eright dcolor
and the honest varnisher around the corner mixed the varnish.
Differences between the producers:
- Jamming and welding ( I already told about it)
- The sillboard of the SCX modell is a seperate piece
- The glasses of the Revell modell sticked
- Only Scalectrix modells have towing eyes
- Revell and SCX modells have a half inlet
- Revell modells haven’t any coolerholes
